PAINTED TEMPLE PANEL

This panel depicts Lord Mahaveer, a diety from the Jain religion.

It is a contemporary copy of a very old temple panel, and painted with great skill on wood.

Over a metre high it has real gravatis, a mood of its very own

and would add a note of luxurious exotica to any home.

MANDALA  PAINTING

This Mandala painting on wood was inspired by a panel in an old Hindu

temple in Daipur. The Mandala (circle) symbol used in Hindu and Buddhist

art are icons for both religions.

Found in an old haveli, this beautiful carving depicts Sarasvati, a Vedic goddess and a river which flows from the celestial ocean and distributes all the blessings on earth.

Carved 80 to 100 years ago from solid wood this imposing piece stands 182cm high and 75cm wide.
